DEFINITION

According to Flippo Human resource management is the planning, organizing, directing& controlling of the procurement, development, compensation, integration, maintenance& separation of human resource to the end that individual, organizational& social objectives are accomplished In short term HRM is an art of managing people at work in such a manner that they give their best to the organization for achieving its set goals

IMPORTANCE OF HRM

Significance of an enterprise:
*Attracting& relating the required talent through effective HRP, recruitment, selection, placement, orientation, compensation& promotion policies *Developing the necessary skills& right attitudes among the employees through training, development, performance appraisal, etc

Professional significance: *Providing maximum opportunity for personal development of each employee *Allocating work properly

Social significance
*Providing suitable employment that provides social& psychological satisfaction to people *Maintaining a balance between the job available& the job seekers in terms of numbers, qualifications, needs& aptitude

National significance
*The level of development in a country depends primarily on the skills, attitudes& values of its human resource

Job- A group of task that must be performed if an organization is to achieve its goals Job analysis The systematic process of determining the skills, duties& knowledge required for performing specific job in an organization Job description-A document that provides information regarding the task, duties& responsibility of a job Job specification- A document that outlines the minimum acceptable qualification a person should possess to perform a particular job

HRP-The process of systematically reviewing HR requirements to ensure that the required numbers of employees, with the required skills, are available when and where they are needed. RECRUITMENT Recruitment is the process of attracting individuals on a timely basis, in sufficient numbers, and with appropriate qualifications, and encouraging them to apply for jobs with an organization.
