Academic records:

Course names, course topics & contents, mode of delivery. Board Panel members to discuss and finalize the courses and their contents. Student details and courses opted by them. Course delivery timetable and daily subjects time table. Student's attendance sheets for each subject. Feedback of faculties given by students. Course progress details, how many topics have been covered and how much is left.

Faculty records:

Faculty details, both internal and external. Their subject expertise, experience. Their attendance reports and feedback regarding students and course progress. Wages/Salary of each faculty based on their attendance reports.

Confidentiality :

From the identified assets, the faculty remunerations and feedback details are sensitive and not to be revealed. Other information like course details, contents, attendance, schedules are meant to be public viewing, hence they do not have any confidential requirements.

Integrity :

As per the data owner, academics department have integrity requirements based on the information they store. Course details, student attendance reports is of low importance and Faculty pay is of Moderate importance.

Attendance sheets, feedback data integrity is of high importance. Access to critical information is based on folder permissions, which allows only authenticated person to edit the data.

Availability : Unavailability of data for few weeks is acceptable for the department. Timetable data, attendance reports, course details stored in electronic/paper format is distributed publicly. So unavailability for small duration is not an issue. Unavailability of data like course contents, attendance sheets and pay will have major impact if not accessible or restored for months.

With respect to CIA perspective, most of the academic records have low impact. The data required to conduct the academic sessions is made public and due to this aspect, loss of confidentiality, integrity or availability will have no or limited adverse effects. Among the identified information within academic record asset, feedback, remunerations and attendance data is critical. If feedback and remuneration details are compromised, there might be damage to reputation of SCIT and might prevent normal functioning of academic sessions. Feedback, if revealed will cause differences between faculty and student. Tampering of feedback, might lose authenticity of data. If Remuneration details integrity is lost, there are chances of financial loss to SCIT.

Academic Department has well defined processes, guidelines and procedures to carry out it's daily activities Academics department should have robust security for their critical information.
