BACKGROUND
Born in a Hassan Iyengar village of Gorur,
Karnataka Educated in a village school and at Sainik School, Bijapur. He took a commission in the Indian Army, served for eight years. Became a farmer who converted barren land in to proper plantation. Next, he started the Malnad Mobikes(Enfield dealership)and opened a hotel in Hasan.
In 2003 Air Deccan came to birth This was first Low Cost Carrier of India Cheaper than Railways 2-Tier AC More advance than Railway system

Air Deccan targeted three market segments:

The existing airline carriers though they did not
operate on low-cost.
Air Deccans main competitor is the Indian Railways It wanted to capture the top end of rail and road
travel in India
