DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. What the LCAC can do to benefit the community. 2. Impressions of Final Fridays. 3. Perception of Lawrence arts community unity. 4. How unity in the Lawrence arts community can be improved.
EVALUATION RESULTS
We evaluated 74 programs in five categories : Awards (11), Education (5), Events (17), Grants (19), and Services (22). Panel ranked the five categories in order of most important to least important: Education, Grants, Events, Services, and Awards. We included the highest ranked programs in each categories in our community wide survey.
SURVEY STRUCTURE
It was not divulged for whom the survey was conducted in order not to bias the results too much in favor or against the LCAC. Participates were first allowed to list their top five arts organizations, programs, and events. Then they evaluated 53 current Lawrence organizations, programs, and events, rating them Strongly Disliked, Neutral/Not Familiar With, or Strongly Liked. Ranked current LCAC offerings along with top performers from the Evaluation Panel results. From a scale of 1 to 9, 9 being the highest ranking, the weighted average is calculated for each offering. Survey ended with ranking of the five offering types.

Geographic Information Systems -- analyzing and managing information referenced to the geography of the earth. USA Tapestry Segments operate on the theory that people with similar tastes, lifestyles, and behaviors seek others with the same tastes like seeks like. Segments are based on common factors such as age, household income, and education level. A community s segments show its composition and whether they are comparable to segments of other cities. If Lawrence is similar to Lincoln, NE and Norman, OK, the Artists in Public Schools program would more likely be supported in Lawrence.
RESULTS
Lawrence shares 14 of 21 segments with Lincoln and Norman: 9 segments with both of them, plus 2 more with Lincoln alone, and 3 more with just Norman. Average Median Age of Segments: Lawrence 34.9, Lincoln 37.4, Norman 36.2 Average Median Household Income of Segments: Lawrence $54,720, Lincoln $62,008, Norman $59,401 Average Percentage of College Degree Holders of Segments: Lawrence 31%, Lincoln 32%, Norman 33% Conclusion: Lawrence is very similar to Lincoln and Norman, so the Artists in Public Schools program has a great chance of being successfully replicated here.
The LCAC should work to promote these offerings more and improve them.
Use Final Fridays to boost awareness of LCAC offerings and spread information for other organizations and individuals.
