SRR 94% Avoid low lying areas in cultivation. Maintain optimum plant population 75,000 / ha Soil test based fertilizer application for balanced use of fertilizer and supplement for the micronutrient deficiencies. Wherever the bee activities are low advise hand pollination at thetime of flowering for good seed setting. Spraying of 0.2% borax increases the seed setting Adoption of IPM measures for control of Heliothis, Spodptera and necrocis disease.
