By: Sanjukta Banerjee 5/3/12 Group III.

Kurt Donald Cobain was an

American singer-songwriter, musician and artist, best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the grunge band Nirvana.
Kurt Donald Cobain was born on

February 20, 1967, at Grays Harbor Hospital in Aberdeen, Washington, to a waitress, Wendy Elizabeth (ne Fradenburg), and an automotive 5/3/12 mechanic, Donald Leland Cobain.

The Beatles were an early and lasting

influence on Cobain; his aunt Mari remembers him singing "Hey Jude" at the age of two.
Cobain was also a fan of classic rock

bands from the 1970s, including Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Queen, and Kiss.
Punk rock proved to be a profound

influence on a teenaged Cobain's attitude and artistic style.

More than anything, Kurt Cobain was

and still is one of the most iconic musicians in the world.

His contributions to the history of

rock and alternative music, paired with his superior songwriting and guitarist skills, earned him the spot in Rolling Stone magazine as the 12th greatest guitarist of all time. In 2006, he was still considered one of the 5/3/12 highest earning deceased celebrities,

His impression has been left on such a massive scale that the Seattle Museum, the Seattle Experience Music project Museum, and the Aberdeen Museum of History have all dedicated exhibits to him.
