NEED FOR BOOKMARK

 Book-mark provides a way of assigning names to parts


of our document for quick reference and retrieval

 A book mark can mark a single point in the text, one or


more characters etc.

PROCEDURE FOR INSERTING A BOOKMARK
FIELD
 Insert a bookmark field

1.To print the information assigned to a bookmark by an ASK or SET


field, you must insert a bookmark field in the main document
2.In the main document, click where you want Word to print the
information.
3.Press CTRL+F9 to insert a pair of field characters ({ }).
4.Between the field characters, type the name of the bookmark you
defined; for example, { REF Title }.

1.On the Tools menu, click Options, and then


click the View tab.
2.Select the Bookmarks check box. If you
assigned a bookmark to an item, the bookmark
appears in brackets ([…]) on the screen.
The brackets do not print

SEARCHING FOR A BOOK-MARK

To see where book-marks are:


 Select options to display the options dialog box,
 After selecting the book-marks check-box in the show
area on the view menu

DELETING A BOOK-MARK

Delete a bookmark
 On the Insert menu, click Bookmark.

 Click the name of the bookmark you want to delete, and


then click Delete.
 Note : To delete both the bookmark and the bookmarked
item (such as a block of text or other element), select the
item, and then press Delete.

GOING TO A SPECIFIC BOOK-MARK

On the Insert menu, click Bookmark.


 Click either Name or Location to sort the list of
bookmarks
 If you want to display hidden bookmarks, such
as cross-references, select the Hidden
bookmarks check box.
 Under Bookmark name, click the bookmark you
want to go to.
 Click Go To.
