HISTORY OF METAL

The first band to mark the inception of true heavy metal, Led Zeppelin, set down the blueprint with their music and lyrics, as well as their excess-filled lifestyle. Lead singer Robert Plant established an iconic look and vocal style, while the other members of the band--Jimmy Page on guitar, John Bonham on drums and John Paul Jones on bass and keyboard--placed an emphasis on virtuosic playing that would become a staple of the genre.

The only other band of that time to create a similar impact was Black Sabbath. The band stepped away from the blues-influenced roots of proto-metal espoused by Zeppelin, and instead pioneered the use of loud, ponderous riffs, according to the Encyclopedia of Heavy Metal Music. At nineteen years, this is the band's longest-standing lineup.

Quiet Riot is an American Heavy Metal band. They are best known for their hit singles "Metal Health" and "Cum On Feel the Noize". They were founded in 1973 by guitarist Randy Rhoads and bassist Kelly Garni, under the original name Mach 1, before changing the name to Little Women and finally Quiet Riot in May 1975.

DragonForce are an English power metal band from London. Formed in 1999, the group is known for its long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-based lyrics, and electronic sounds in their music to add to their retro video gameinfluenced sound. The band has delayed the release of their debut album, choosing instead to tour with Manowar and Rhapsody of Fire.
