Santa Claus visits children on Christmas Eve
and brings them gifts.
People join with family and friends, share
meals, and give presents to one another.

Christmas is a relatively new non-
religious holiday, celebrated mainly in
the cities of Japan. It is devoted mainly
to the pleasure of children.
Trees are decorated with small toys and
origami. Japanese children exchange
origami “birds of peace” as a pledge that
war must not happen again.
Santa is called “Kurohsu” and it is
believed he has eyes in the back of his
head so he can watch children all year long.

Eve.
Favorite Christmas foods are
lutefish, a boiled cod, and kringle,
a Christmas sweet.
