Introduction
 Logistics activities provide the bridge between
production and market locations that are separated
by time and distance.
 Logistic is the very essence of trade. It contributes
to a higher economic standard of living for us all.
 To the individual firm operating in a high-level
economy, good management of logistic activities
is vital.

 Logistics is that part of the supply chain
process that plans, implements, and controls
the efficient, effective flow and storage of
goods, services, and related information
from the point of origin to the point of
consumption in order to meet customers’
requirements

 Supply chain management is defined as the
systematic, strategic coordination of the
traditional business functions and the tactics
across these business functions within a
particular company and across business
within the supply chain, for the purposes of
improving the long-term performance of the
