An overview

Strategy (Porter)
A broad based formula for how business is going to compete, what its goals should be, and what policies will be needed to carry out these goals. The essence of formulating competitive strategy is relating a company to its environment.

Types of Strategy

What businesses are we in? Global objectives for growth/stability/Defense

Business Strategy
Deals with Single SBU and contributes to Corporate strategy

Functional Strategy
Harness the activities, skills, resources of an SBU IS strategy is one of them
