•4th nine weeks may take summer school classes to meet

BHS ATHLETIC STUDY TABLE
•All in- season athletics receiving a D or F must attend
•Attendance is mandatory! Players are ineligible to participate in
athletics (by Corporation Policy) unless they are attending a study
table twice a week, 30 minutes each.
•Athletes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:00-3:30 in
the Pool Hospitality Room.
•The Athletic Academic Supervisor will be Carol Watkins, BHS math
teacher.
•Mrs. Watkins will not tolerate any disruption during the 30 minutes
study time. Students who do not comply will be asked to leave.
•Mrs. Watkins will keep record of attendance, supervise and tutor,
and follow-up to Mr. Jessup in the athletic office periodically.
•Athletes may choose to fulfill their 30 Minute required study time
with the teacher whose class they are struggling in. A Study Table
Compliance Form would be filled out by the athlete and signed by
the faculty member documenting that they had worked together for
the required 30 minutes.
•Individual coaches may also elect to have study tables. An
athlete can fulfill their 30 minute required study time with their
coach. A full 30 minute supervised study time with the
athlete(s) at a desk or table will be expected. He coach will sign
the Study Table Compliance Form verifying that the athlete
attended the “team” table. The athlete will then need to submit
the form to Mrs. Watkins for verification of attendance. If a
coach has several athletes attending he or she can collect the
forms and give them to Mrs. Watkins.
•Athletes will be required to attend the study table until their
season is completed or the nine weeks is over. If however,
after 3 weeks (6 attendance days) an athlete can verify that
he/she has been able to raise the grade in question into the B
range; their study table requirement will be fulfilled.
•Mr. Jessup will keep data and check on progress on the study
table athletes each 9 weeks. At the end of the year we will
determine if the athletic study table is a positive, efficient
method of helping our student athletes.
•The Athletic Study Table is an evolving project. Throughout the
year we may need to modify items in an attempt to find the best,
most helpful program for our student athletes.
