Definition
 A form of body language
 A meeting of the eyes

 Involve your audience

 Lead people to trust you.


 Show your confidence.

 Make eye contact from the start
 Maintain eye contact 90% of the time
 Look at their forehead, nose or mouth if
you find it hard to look at audience’s eyes.
 Engage in eye contact with everyone

 Don’t hold eye contact at only one or two people
for too long  making audience uncomfortable.
Don’t stick your eyes on the walls or the ceiling

Definition
 A form of body language
 Results from one or more motions or
positions of the muscles of the face.
 Express countless emotions without
saying a word.

When you speak, your face - more clearly
than any other part of your body -
communicates to your audience your
attitudes, feelings, and emotions.

 Unfreeze your face right from the start.

 Notice which expressions you use while speaking.


Ask yourself if your facial expression match your
words
. Keep an expressive, relaxed and pleasant face.

 End your presentation with a smile

Don't try to copy the
facial expression style
of someone else.
Don't overdo it.
Rules
You will compete in teams. (Team 1 and Team 2)
You are allowed to watch two video clips on body
language twice.
Rules
Clip 1:
You can use the infinitive form of verbs
Note down all the non-verbal actions of the older man,
named Mark.
Draw a one-word conclusion about Mark. (characteristic
and influence)
After watching, you have 2 minutes to discuss before
moving to clip 2.
Each correct action = 1 point
Each correct conclusion = 3 points

Rules
Clip 2:
You can use the infinitive form of verbs
Note down all the non-verbal actions of the man on the
left named David.
Draw a one-word conclusion about David (emotion(s) /
feelings)
After watching you have 2 minutes to discuss before
submitting all your answers.
Each correct action = 1 point
Each correct conclusion = 3 points
