• IT Contract opportunities doubled compared to 2009 from 2 nd quarter 2010 • IT Permanent & fixed term contract opportunities improved from 2 nd half of 2010 but not consistent • Recovery led by public & private sector transformation / restructure programs & the drive for efficiency and innovative value for money solutions. • Strong demand for specialised and experienced IT skills particularly within consulting firms, vendors & banks • Permanent IT salaries did not show increase compared with 2009 • Contract rates in key demand skill areas showed increases of upto 30% • BA demand increased in early 2010 – and by 3 rd quarter showed a 150% increase since 2009. • Towards the end of the 2010 skills in high demand included BA’s, Programme Managers & project managers. - Junior business analyst - $50,000 - $60,000 - Intermediate business analyst - $60,000 - $85,000 - Senior business analyst - $80,000 - $120,000 - Business analyst manager -$100,000 - $140,000 • Contract rates for BA’s (not including agency fee’s) - Intermediate business analyst - $60 - $75 per hour - Senior business analyst - $80 - $100 per hour - Business analyst – team lead - $90 - $120 per hour • Hiring managers demanding BA candidates with exposure to a range of toolsets & methodologies. • The move towards the use of more off the shelf solutions leading to the change of the BA role requirements.
