Base cut-offs of 1 gpt Au and 5 gpt Ag were used to calculate significant assay intercepts. All samples were analyzed by traditional fire assay (50g charge) by
ALS Chemex Laboratory in Lima, Peru. Assay values are weighted averages, using thickness and grade to calculate the total interval assay value.
The mapping and sampling program defined two distinct structures hosting veins, Paloma and Cuculi, which contain gold mineralization at La Pampa. These
structures are sub parallel, trend roughly north-south, have steep (65° to vertical) easterly dips, and are mapped over strike lengths of 3.5 and 2.2 kilometers,
respectively. On the structures, sample widths ranged from 0.5 to 4.0 meters and gold values ranged from nil (<0.005 grams of gold per tonne (gpt Au)) to highly
anomalous (166.1 gpt Au). In addition, Trench 1 was dug approximately 700 meters southeast of the Cuculi vein and revealed numerous vertical vein structures
that also contain gold mineralization. Bear Creek's sampling program was successful in defining several prospective targets for drill evaluation in 2004. Drilling
(up to 1,000 meters) will assess the potential for near-surface gold mineralization, and for high-grade ore shoots at shallow depths within the silicified volcanics.
No previous drilling has been performed at La Pampa.
Bear Creek Mining Corporation is an aggressive exploration company with a primary focus on making ore deposit discoveries in Peru. Core drilling is
progressing well on Bear Creek's Niñobamba silver project and complete assay results are expected in early December. On Bear Creek's Ataspaca copper-gold
porphyry target in southern Peru, additional fieldwork is being completed to better define drill targets and a core drilling program will be initiated in early 2004.
With ongoing exploration activities on several high priority projects, Bear Creek will generate news regularly throughout this year and well into the coming year.
