Qur¶an Chapter 66,Verses 10-12

Some Virtuous women

Ä There were virtuous women who lived by


the religious teachings of their times.
Ä There were equally some who went against
the teachings of the religion of their period.
Ä Allah has mention some of them in the
Qur¶an so that Muslims could draw lessons
from their actions.
Vour women mentioned in chapter 66,Verses
10 -12

ÄAllah mention four women in


chapter 66, verses 10 ± 12.
ÄTwo of them were godly women,
while the other two were evil
women.
Ä The godly women were Asiyah, the wife
of Pharaoh of Egypt and Bint Imran,
the mother of Prophet Isa (AS).
Ä The evil women were the wife of
Prophet Nuh(AS).
Ä And the wife of Prophet Lut (AS).
Brief account of the wife of Prophet Nuh (AS).

Ä The wife of prophet Nuh(AS) was not a


Muslim. Though she was a wife of a
prophet of Allah, she refuse to accept
the teachings of the religion he brought
from Allah.
Ä She chosen to go with the unbelievers.
Öhat she does

Ä She therefore, made jest of him and


called him a mad man.
Ä Her relationship with him did not save
her.
Ä Allah destroyed her along with
unbelievers in a flood.
Ä She will get the same punishment with
them on the Day of Judgment.
Öife of Prophet Lut (AS).

Ä Öife of Prophet Lut (AS)was not also a Muslim.Her


closeness to her husband did not make her to accept
the religion brought by her husband from Allah.
Ä She also sided with the unbelievers.
Ä The men among the people of Lut (AS) engaged in
sodomy.
Ä They therefore preferred males to
females.
Ä The wife of prophet Lut (AS)
assisted them by making fire
whenever Lut (AS)had male visitor
as indication for the unbelievers to
come and use them.
Prophet Lut¶s Öife

Ä She was destroyed together with the


unbelievers to come and use them.
Ä She was destroyed together with the
unbelievers in a quake.
Ä She will go to Hell Vire on the Day of
Judgment
Daughter of Imran

ÄThe daughter of Imran was


Maryam the mother of Prophet
Isa (AS). Allah has mentioned
her in the Qur¶an as a good and
a religious woman.
ÄHer mother dedicated her to
God and sent her to worship of
God.
ÄShe gave birth to Prophet
Isa(AS) and brought him up.
Ä She also accepted him as a Prophet
and followed the religion he
brought from Allah.
Ä God will reward her with Paradise
on the Day of Judgment.
Öife of Pharaoh

Ä Asiya was the wife of Pharaoh of Egypt.


Ä The Pharaoh was an unbeliever.
Ä He called himself god.
Ä He directed his people to worship him.
Ä Allah protected his wife from accepting and
worshipping him as god.
ÄÖhen Prophet Musa (AS) came
with the message from Allah,
Asiyah accepted it and followed
him.
ÄThe Pharaoh was not happy
with her.
ÄHe commended his servants to
Change her religion.
ÄShe prayed Allah to build a
house for her in Paradise.
ÄHer husband, the Pharaoh was
destroyed in a flood.
