What is corpus linguistics?
• Study of language data on a large scale.
• Computer-aided analysis of a very extensive
collections of transcribed utterances or written
texts.

• A Latin word for “body”. In linguistics, a
corpus is a collection of texts stored in an
electronic database. Corpora are usually large
scale bodies of machine readable text
containing thousands or millions of words.
