Buildings, both commercial and residential represent a
larger source of global warming pollution than cars and
trucks. Building of these structures require a lot of fuel to
be burnt which emits a large amount of carbon dioxide in
the atmosphere. Methane is more than 20 times as
effectual as CO2 at entrapping heat in the atmosphere.
Methane is obtained from resources such as rice paddies,
bovine flatulence, bacteria in bogs and fossil fuel
manufacturem 6nother cause of global warming is
deforestation that is caused by cutting and burning of
forests for the purpose of residence and industrialization.
m
Over the last hundred years or so, the instrumental
temperature record has shown a trend in climate of increased
global mean temperature, i.e., global warming. Other
observed changes include 6rctic shrinkage, 6rctic methane
release, releases of terrestrial carbon from permafrost regions
and 6rctic methane release in coastal sediments, and sea
level rise. Global average temperature is predicted to increase
over this century, with a probable increase in frequency of
some extreme weather events, and changes in rainfall
patterns.
m
ncreasing temperature is likely to lead to increasing
precipitation but the effects on storms are less clear. Extra
tropical storms partly depend on the temperature gradient,
which is predicted to weaken in the northern hemisphere as
the polar region warms more than the rest of the hemisphere.
6n increase in the flow of freshwater into the world's oceans,
partly from melting ice and partly from increased
precipitation driven by an increase in global ocean
evaporation. The increase in global freshwater flow, based on
data from 1994 to 2006, was about 18%.

The role of the oceans in global warming is a complex one. The
oceans serve as a sink for carbon dioxide, taking up much that
would otherwise remain in the atmosphere, but increased levels
of CO2 have led to ocean acidification. Furthermore, as the
temperature of the oceans increases, they become less able to
absorb excess CO2. Ongoing effects include rising sea levels due
to thermal expansion and melting of glaciers and ice sheets,
and warming of the ocean surface, leading to increased
temperature stratification. The amount of oxygen dissolved in
the oceans may decline, with adverse consequences for ocean
life.
m
Owing to the overall rise in the temperature, the glaciers in
the 6ntarctic region begin to melt which has increased the
overall sea level. f this situation continues, many low lying
areas will submerge in the near future. There are many easy
solutions to reduce global warming and its impact. First of
all, people should understand the problem and take measures
accordingly to save the world.

4Consumption of organic food should be increased because
organic soil absorb large amount of carbon dioxide
