1.Guass Divergence Theorem

2.Green’s Theorem

3.Stoke’s Theorem
Problems on Gauss Divergence Theorem
Green’s Theorem in a plane
Statement:
Let S be a Closed region in xy-plane bounded by a simple
closed curve C and if M and N are continuous functions of x
and y with continuous derivatives in R then

Where C is traversed in anti-clock wise direction(+ve)

Problems on Green’s Theorem
Verify Green’s Theorem in a plane for
Where C is the region bounded by
Sol:

We have by Green’s Theorem

2.Evaluate by Green’s theorem
Where C is the triangle enclosed by the lines

Sol: Let M=y-sinx and N=cosx then

Stokes Theorem

Statement:
Let S be a open surface bounded by a closed non
intersecting curve G and if F is any differentiable
vector point function then

where C is traversed in the positive direction and n is

outward drawn unit normal vector at any point on the
surface
Problems on Stoke’s Theorem
Verify Stoke’s theorem for
over the upper half surface of the sphere
bounded by the projection of the xy-plane.

Sol:
Hence the Stoke’s theorem verified.
