CONVERSATION QUESTION

SCIENCE & MEDICINE

1

Who is the most famous scientist from your country ? What did he/she do?
FAMOUS SCIENTIST FROM INDONESIA

Famous scientist who came from

Indonesia and was admired by many
people is B.J. habibie. The 3rd
President of Indonesia is a respected
Indonesian scientist to date.
Studying in Germany, he has patented a
myriad of discoveries in the world of
aviation, one of which is Crack's theory.
B.J HABIBIE This theory can calculate the plane's weak
spot even to the size of an atom. Prior to
these findings, the aircraft industry actually
increased aircraft manufacturing materials
with heavy materials so that if an accident
occurs, the aircraft could still survive.

In what ways has science most advanced society?

-Industrial productivity is increasing. Advances in technology will

increase the productivity capabilities of the industrial world both in

the aspect of industrial technology and in aspects of the type of
production
-The socialization of government policies can be more quickly
conveyed to the public
-Facilitate the exchange of students between countries
3

In what ways has science had a negative impact on society?

impact on the economic and industrial fields

a. The occurrence of unemployment for workers

who do not have the qualifications in accordance
with what is needed
b. Consumptive nature as a result of intense
competition in the era of globalization will also
give birth to a generation that is morally
impact on education and socio-cultural fields experiencing a decline: consumptive, wasteful and
has a shortcut that is mentally "instant".
c. The presence of industrial waste that disrupts
a. Utilization of communication services by terrorist people's lives includes polluting rivers, causing air
networks (Kompas) pollution and so on
b. The use of certain information and certain sites
contained on the internet that can be misused NEGATIV
certain parties for certain purposes. E
c. If too many children are confronted with a
computer screen it will reduce health, especially in
the eyes

What do you think about evolution and other theories of natural selection?
The theory of evolution is one of the great intellectual
revolutions of human history, drastically changing our L
perception of the world and of our place in it. The theory A

Do you like studying science ? Why or why not?

WHY

The very basis of science is a system of thought and experiment

called the scientific method. Learning to follow this process
helps you think logically. Seeing the relationship between
empirical evidence and your theory helps you think critically.
These important thinking skills can be applied in many areas
of study
6

What natural disaster occur in your country? Explain why

they happen
Earthquake

Earthquakes can occur as a result

of shifts in the earth's plates which
produce large enough vibrations.
Or it could be due to volcanic
eruptions (volcanic earthquakes).
The impact of the earthquake
resulted in altered soil structure
and damage to buildings that
could eliminate human lives.

FLASH FLOODS
massive floods that come suddenly
and bring heavy material with
them such as trees, mud and
rocks. It usually occurs in the
rainy season, when it rains
continuously until the land on
higher ground can no longer hold
a large amount of water.

How do you feel about cloning ? Do you think it’s ethical for
scientist to clone animals? What about human organs?
CLONI
NG
cloning is the process of
producing individuals of the
same type (population) that are
genetically identical.
FOR HUMAN
CLONE ANIMALS ?
cloning for humans is just as
unethical unless it is done to in my opinion, cloning animals is
repair organs or cells. unethical because now they are
mostly cloned animals to satisfy
psychology like never before to
perfect genes. and we as humans
should not have the ability to create
a living creature
8

In your opinion , what’s the greatest medical advancement of

the past century? Why?
MY OPINION
current medical advancements in my opinion is
technology that can help cure illnesses and
great again current medical technology can
detect a person's life expectancy so in essence
the current medical advances are in
sophisticated technology

How has science influenced the way detectives investigate

crimes?
1.Fingerprint 2.Mysterious Subtances
police or detectives like Sherlock Holmes can
This fingerprint can be evidence in a examine these mysterious substances with
crime case. Because everyone's forensic science.Mysterious substances are
fingerprints are different. if there is a usually examined in the laboratory by
match then the possibility is the culprit chemists.Mysterious substances are researched
for hours until they finally know what they are

3.Trace genetic code

In blood, hair and skin cells there are
individual genetic codes. The material
found is archived clean and tidy. This
evidence can also still be useful in the next
few years, to track down perpetrators of
crime.
10

Do you think there is life on another planets? If so, how close

is it and what does it look like?
there is an alien planet found outside our solar system
(extrasolar planet) having a mass of only three times the
earth. heavenly object that is similar to earth. and this is
also contained in the Qur'an surah At-talaq verse 12.

This verse clearly alludes to the existence of a planet

that is similar to earth, and may be similar to this
earth not only in the physical form of the earth that
can be inhabited by humans, even does not cover the
possibilities similarity is also in the same thing with
the earth, the planet is inhabited by other creatures
who can think.
11

What’s your favorite branch of science?

BIOLOGI

study of life and living organisms, including their structure, function, growth,
evolution, distribution and taxonomy. Modern biology is very broad, and eclectic,
and consists of various branches, and subdisciplines. However, despite its broad
scope, there are a number of general concepts that govern all research, bringing
them together in one field. Biology generally recognizes cells as the basic unit of
life, genes as the basic unit of inheritance, and evolution as the mechanism that
drives the creation of new species. In addition, the organism is believed to survive
by consuming, and changing energy and by regulating the state of it to remain
stable, and vital.
12

Do you know how your computer works? If so ,explain how.

COMPUTER WORKING FLOW

1. Input : This stage is the entry of raw data into a computer

system through an input device. Examples of input devices
include keyboard, mouse, scanner.
2. Process : At this stage, the data entered through the input
device will be processed. This stage of the process is carried
out by the processing device, the CPU.
3. Output : At this stage, the data that was already entered
through the input device, then processed by the CPU can be
printed when it's ready. This printing can be in the form of
hardcopy and softcopy
4. Storage : This stage is the process of recording the results of
processing to a storage device (storage device) and can be
used again as input for the next process. So, the raw data
that has been processed can be stored on a storage media
(Storage device) so that later it can be used again at any time
if you want to print the data.

13

How have you personally benefitted from developments in

modern medicine?
The benefits that I feel are that today's medicine is
more sophisticated, because most of them use
technology, maybe the existence of this
technology can help humans be faster and less
complicated but the costs may be more expensive
14

What do you think will be greatest medical breakthrough in

the next ten years?
MEDICAL BREAKTHROUGH IN THE NEXT
TEN YEARS

1. Blasting brain tumours with particle accelerator light

2. Electronic, networked test results

3. Digital tattoos for a more invisible healthcare

15

What scientest do you respect the most and why ?

The wright brothers because they were two American
aviation pioneers generally credited with inventing ,
building , and flying the world’s first succesful
motoroperated airplane.
