BACKGROUND
 The nursing process is based on “Nursing theory
 Developed by Ida Jean Orlando
 She developed the theory in late 1950’s as she
observed nurses in action. she saw good and
bad nurses
 She published a book in 1961 “THE Dynamic
Nurse -Patient Relationship” and revised in
1972

PURPOSE
• Its purpose is to : Diagnose and treat human
response to actual or potential health problems

Definition

• It is a systematic method that direct the nurse


and patient in planning patient care , and
enable a nurse to organize and deliver nursing
care

Subjective data
Information percieved only by infected person e:g
pain etc
Objective data
Observable and measureable data that can be
seen, heard and felt by a person other than
experiencing e:g fever etc

• Analyze the patient data to identify the strength


and weaknesses of a patient

• Measuring extent to which patient achieved

• How long our plan recover the patient within

• Its main purpose is to assist human response
