BACKGROUND
The nursing process is based on “Nursing theory
Developed by Ida Jean Orlando
She developed the theory in late 1950’s as she
observed nurses in action. she saw good and
bad nurses
She published a book in 1961 “THE Dynamic
Nurse -Patient Relationship” and revised in
1972

response to actual or potential health problems
