Small Business : Firm generates 95% or more of it’s sales from it’s core business area.

Dominant Business: Firm generates 70-95% of total sales revenue within a single business area.
Example: Rupkotha

They do business of digital play cards


which generates 90% revenue, which is his core business area
and also he does some gadget business which generates other
10% of revenue
MODERATE TO HIGH LEVELS
Related Constrained: Less than 70% of revenue comes from the dominant business and also all the businesses share
product , technologies and distribution linkages, means direct link between firm businesses.

Related linked ( Mix related and unrelated) : Less than 70% of revenue comes from the dominant business and there are
only limited links between businesses. Linked firm sharing fewer resources and assets among their businesses compare to related

Unrelated Diversification: Less than 70% revenue comes from the dominant business and there are no common links between

So finally we can say that at low level diversification small business firms generates 95% or more of it’s sales from it’s core
business area and dominant business firm generates 70-95% of total sales revenue within a single business area.

Where in moderate to high levels less than 70% of revenue comes from the dominant business and all businesses share product
, technologies and distribution linkages in related constrained on the other hand
In related link everything is same except there are only limited links between the businesses. And finally on the very high
levels which is unrelated diversification there are no common links between businesses.
