Structural Analysis Structural analysis is the process of calculating and determining the effects of loads and internal forces on a structure, building or object. If we design structural members and mechanical members, we must know internal forces in the members to be assure that the materials to be used are able to withstand the loadings that effort at the members. The internal forces can be found by Structural Analysis. Structural Analysis can either be performed during design, testing or post- construction. What are the types of Structural Analysis? 1. Hand Calculations 2. Finite Element Method(FEM) 3. Software CHERRY (1,2 & 3) Main Dimensions Length overall (LOA) - 41.35 m Length between perpendiculars (LBP) - 38.5 m Breadth, molded (B) - 9.4 m Depth to main deck, molded (D1) - 2.6 m Design draft, molded (Td) - 1.2 m Scantling draft, molded (Ts) - 1.45 m Freeboard mark shall be marked at the Ts. 1. To be familiar with the structural scantlings
calculations 2. To design a ship according to the rule and reduce the structural mistakes 3. To be able to design inland passenger ferry with more efficient and safety as well as optimum economy. 4. To enlarge the market of the ship building industry of our country.
