Gambling enthusiast may have very well
heard that the Asian casino gaming industry,
both in the online and offline realms, has
been expanding and opening its doors to
new development in recent years.
Macau certainly comes to mind as a leading
casino gaming destination being that it is the
largest gaming market in all Asia. However,
many gamblers (especially those in the
West) are surprised to hear just how large
the casino market has become in the
Philippines.
The casino industry in the Philippines is
thriving, and the Philippines has become
one of the most desirable casino destination
in Asia.
Political stability, steady economic

Casino operations jobs fall into five

DEFINITION OF TERMS

Baccarat. This refers to the traditional

table game in which the winning hand
totals closest to nine.
Bet. This refers to the amount wagered or
put into play during a gaming activity.
Blackjack. This refers to the table game in
which the winning hand is determined by
whether the dealer or the player gets cards
that add up to a number closest or equal to
21 without going over.
Casino. This refers to the area in which
gaming activities take place involving table
games and slot machines.
Craps. This refers to table game played
with two dice.

Drop. The income from the sale of

chips
Gaming entertainment. This refers to
business that offer games of risk as a part
of a total package of entertainment and
leisure time activities including resort
hotels, various food service concepts, retail
shopping, theme parks, live entertainment,
and recreational pursuits.
Gambling. This refers to playing a game of
risk for the thrill of the action and the
chance of making money.
Handle. Is the total amount of money
bet.
Poker. This refers to a card game in which
participants play against each other instead
of the casino.
Roulette. This refers to a traditional table
game in which a dealer spins a wheel and
players wager on which number a small
ball will fall.
Slot machine. This refers to an electronic
gaming device.
Social gambler. This refers to a gambler
who plays a game of risk as a form of
entertainment and a social activity,
combining gambling with many other
activities during their visit.
Wager. This refers to the sum of money,
properly, or other compensation to be paid
to the person who wins a bet.
Win. This refers to the dollars won by the
gaming operation from its customers, the
net spending of customers on gaming is
called the win, also known as gross gaming
revenue.(GGR).
