A noun is
a person,

a place,

a thing,

or an idea.
COUNT AND NONCOUNT NOUNS
There are two kinds of nouns in English.

Count Nouns are nouns that you can count.

one chair two chairs

Noncount Nouns are nouns that you cannot count.

For most nouns that end with a vowel, add s.
(Nouns that end in o are exceptions. See the next two
slides.)
