Slub Jersey Pique Fleece Fabric

Slub jersey Knit
Single jersey fabrics are manufactured by weft knitting technique. Here interloping of slub yarn takes
place. Soft twisted yarns are used. It is manufactured on circular knitting machine. Fabric dyeing is
carried out in solid colors so that slub effect is prominent.

Properties/Features:

 Comfortable fit in woven fabrics, freedom of movement, shape retention, excellent drape ability
and crease recovery
 Outstanding shape retention in knitwear
 Used as a substrate for natural/synthetic leather or shoe uppers, Lycra provides 4 - 5% stretch in
shoes to give maximum comfort to the wearer
 Consistent quality effecting high yield in knitting
 Almost 100% recovery in the garments
 Good resistance to chemicals

Use:
 Mainly used for leisure t-shirt
 Used for leisure wear manufacturing Men’s, Women’s and Kids wear.
 Used for sportswear.
 Used for manufacturing under garments.
 Also used for industrial and medical purpose.
Pique knit fabric
Pique knit fabric
Pique fabric is manufactured by warp knitting technique. It can be knitted using any fibre content.
One set of needles are used for knitting. Interloping of yarn takes place in vertical plane.
Pique knit fabric
Features:
 Stretch ability is low and elastic recovery is more than weft knit single jersey.
 Soft and resilient.
 Non Reversible type.
 High drapability.
 Good Dimensional stability.
 High shrinkage in natural fiber.

 Used for leisure wear manufacturing basically Men’s, Women’s and Kids polo T-shirts.
 Used for manufacturing sportswear.

It is available as brushed or unbrused fleece. It is a soft napped insulating synthetic fabric made from
polyethylene terepthalate (PET) or other synthetic fibres. Soft twisted yarns are used. It is
manufactured on circular knitting machine.

Manufacturing process:

1. This fabric can be made by circular knitting machine

2. Incorporating loop yarn with base yarn is the main step of manufacturing fleece fabric
3. After knitting the fabric, the loops of yarns are cut and brushed to make the fleece.
4. Then the fabric is known as fleece knit fabric.
