Prayer for

Priests
 Lord Jesus Christ,
Son of the living God and
Eternal High Priest,
we praise and thank you for the
gift of the priests.
We thank you for sending us
shepherds formed after Your
own heart, sent to preach, to
sanctify, and to bless Your
people.
We ask You to send Your gift of
the Holy Spirit upon the Pope,
our bishops, priests and
deacons.
Sustained by the Spirit, let them
strive to be faithful in fulfilling
their duties, holy and reverent in
celebrating the sacraments,
 compassionate in serving Your
people, courageous amidst trials
and challenges. We also pray
for more vocations to the
priesthood.
 Continue to call generous-
hearted men, eager to respond
to your call to renew and
transform the Church and
society.
 May we, as one community,
together with the clergy and
religious, work together under
the banner of your Sacred
Heart,
So that justice, truth and peace may
truly reign among us. We ask this of
you, who lives and reigns with the
Father and the Holy Spirit, One
God, for ever and ever. Amen.
