Previously, for zone 3, this code was applicable only for following structures Clarity on applicability of this code in zone 3.
1. Importance factor > 1 Code applicable for all structures in zones 3 , 4 & 5
2. Industrial structures
3. More than 5 storeys
Minimum grade of structural concrete is increased from M20 to M25 for building
in zones 3, 4 & 5.
The revised version of the code mandates the use of non linear analysis for
buildings with irregularities
Eg. LLRS members not aligned perpendicular in the principal directions, column
transfers, setbacks, etc.
As per the revised code, spacing of stirrups in beams may come out to be less than 100mm, which may be impractical.
Previously, less than 100mm spacing was not necessary. (Needs clarification)
In other words, if 100mm stirrup spacing is to be provided in beams, then
1. Min. Eff. Depth of beam >= 400mm
2. Min. Longitudinal rebar in beam - 16mm dia.

Minimum requirement imposed for calculation of c/s area of rebars as SCR (for circular
hoops and rectangular links).
May give higher dia links in many cases depending on size of column, clear cover to rebar.
