Aoife . She was not the kind person the king

thought up a cruel spell to get rid of the kids
In the castle grounds there was a lovely lake. The
kids played beside the water. One day Aoife went
with them to the lakeside suddenly pulled out a
magic wand and waved it over them . A flash of
light and the kids vanished. In their place were 4

In the River Boyne there was a magic fish called the Salmon of Knowledge. It was said
that the first person to taste its flesh would be wiser than all other men. Finegas was a
poet who lived near the River Boyne, where he read books and wrote books. He was one
of the wisest men in Ireland. Finegas spent all his years trying to catch the fish but he
had to luck. A young warrior named Fionn lived with Finegas for a while. Fionn was
unaware about the legend the Salmon of Knowledge. When Fionn asked Finegas about
why he spent all his time fishing, Finegas just smiled and gave no answer.

Then one spring morning, Fionn heard a

caught a salmon. It was a beautiful fish and

Then he went inside his church and brought out
some holy water which he sprinkled on the
swans. As soon as the touched them the swans
began to change. One into an old old woman
and three old old man. At first the kids were
frightened. But Caomhog told them about GOD
and his love for all people and they were no
longer scared. Fionnuala put her arms around
her brothers and all 4 old people fell to the
ground dead. That night Caomhog dreamed he
saw 4 swans flying up to the clouds and he
knew that the kids were on their way to heaven
to be with mum and dad again.

The story of Setanta-by Zach
Long ago, there lived a boy named Setanta. His uncle, Conor MacNessa, was the
King of Ulster. The King lived in a great fort,near the town of Armagh.

Conor MacNessa had a group of boys that he trained, which were called the
Macra. They were trained to run and wrestle and play at war with their toy swords
and spears. They played hurling and other games too. If the boys were good
enough they would become a warrior in Conor's legendary army the Red Branch
Knights.
Setanta really wanted to join the macra, but his mother thought he was too young,
eventually after a while his mother gave in and agreed to let him join. Setanta
began his trip to the Kings Fort. It was a very long journey but Setanta had his
hurley and sliotar to keep him amused.

When Setanta reached the fort he saw the Macra playing a game of hurling.He ran
in among the boys and caught the ball.The other boys were ragging, that he joined
in on their game uninvited. They attacked Setanta and threw their spears at
him.He defended himself with his shield.Setanta fought off the boys bravely.The
King heard the all the commotion,and went to see what was the problem.
Setanta shouted “ I am your nephew, I`ve come to join the Macra.” The King was
impressed with Setanta`s bravery and welcomed him to the Macra.

In Ulster there was a blacksmith named Culann who made swords and spears for
Conor Mac Neasa and his army .Culann invited the King, his knights and Setanta
to a feast. Setanta told the King he would follow them when he was finished his
game of hurling.

Before they began to eat Culann asked is everyone here before I release my
hound, they all said yes, (totally forgetting about Setanta).
When Setanta was finished his game of hurling he set off for Culann’s fort to join
the King, and the other warriors for the feast. As he was approaching the fort he
heard the growls of a wolfhound. Suddenly the wolfhound pounced at Setanta .
Setanta had no weapons only his hurley and sliotar. With all his might he hit the
sliotar with the hurley and hit the wolfhound in the throat and killed him stone
dead.

Inside the fort they heard all the noise, King Conor just remembered they had
forgotten Setanta. They all rushed outside to see the dog lying on the ground
dead and Setanta standing beside him with his hurley and sliotar.
But poor Culann was very sad and upset because he had lost his great hound
that guarded the fort everyday. Setanta suggested that he would be Culann’s
guard dog. From that day forward Setanta was called Cúchulainn which means “
The Hound of Culann.”
