Introduction:-

Reinforced Cement Concrete is very popular construction material used

for structural components of a building like beams, columns and slabs
etc. One major flaw of RCC is its condition to environmental attack. This
can severely decrease the strength and life of the structures. The repair
of structurally deteriorated RC Structures become necessary since the
structural element ceases to provide satisfactory strength and
serviceability. There are right smart variety of existing concrete structures
in Bharat that don't meet current style standards.
Objectives of study
• To improve the load carrying capacity of flexural deficient beams with
GFRP&CCFRP
• To study the load deflection behavior of flexural deficient beams with
GFRP&CFRP
• To study the ductility of flexural deficient beams
• To compare the strength of various sizes of GFRP&CFRP sheets which
can be wrapped on beams
SCOPE OF STUDY

• It is essential to review Flexural carrying capacity and ductility of

flexural beams with GFRP&CFRP. The effect of increasing the number
of layers of GFRP&CFRP has to be studied. Load carrying capacity
corresponding to the number of layers of GFRP&CFRP should be
studied for both shear deficient beams and Flexural deficient beams.
The investigations as well as studies conducted on the RCC beams
using CFRP &Glass fiber reinforced polymer overlays are limited. So,
The impact of various sized layers of GFRP&CFRP, which can be
wrapped on shear and flexural deficient beams has to be studied.
Although the fibers and resins employed in FRP Systems are
comparatively dearer compared with ancient strengthening materials.

Literature review:-
A.A. EI-Ghandour. [2011] “Experimental and analytical investigation of CFRP
flexural and shear strengthening efficiencies of RC beams”
• Finally concluded the CFRP flexural strengthening efficiency is sensitive to the flexural level of
damage.
• This damage level should be adequately assessed in design.

MD Akter hosen,et.al.,[2015] “Side Near Surface Mounted (SNSM) technique

for flexural enhancement of RC beams”
• SNSM technique significantly enhanced the flexural behavior of the beams.
• Yield and ultimate load carrying capacities of the beams Increased by factor 2 to 2.38 times.
• Testing of Materials
• Cement Tests

ii. Water Absorption
material used
• Cement = opc 43 grade
• Fine aggregates = river sand
• Coarse aggregates = 20mm

Specific gravity of fineness aggregate =2.70
Specific gravity of saturated surface dry aggregates =2.60
Water absorption
saturated surface dry aggregate =0.5%
fine aggregates =1%
Physical properties of cfrp&gfrp:-

Type of material GFRP CFRP

Nominal size(mm) 13 120

Cross section area (mm2) 201 120

Tensile strength(gpa) 981 3100

Elastic modulas(Gpa) 43.6 165

Ultimate elongation(%) 2.29 1.70

Unique properties of frp composites :

• High ratio of strength to mass density

• Excellent fatigue characteristics
• Light weight and ease of installation
• Excellemt corrosion resistance
• Low axial coefficient of thermal expansion
• Electromagnetic neutrality
Mix design :-
The mix calculations per unit volume of concrete shall be as
follows
• Volume of concrete = 1 𝑚3
• Volume of cement = (Mass of Cement/Sp gravity of cement) *(1/1000)
= 413.33/3.14 *1/1000 = 0.131m
• Volume of water = (Mass of water/Sp gravity of water) *(1/1000)
  =186/1 * 1/1000= 0.186 𝑚3
• Volume of all in aggregate = 1- (0.131+0.186)
=0.683
• Mass of coarse aggregate =0.683*0.62*2.65*1000
=1122.169 kg
•   Mass of fine aggregate =0.683*0.38*2.63*1000
= 687.87 kg
•  Mix proportion = 413.33: 687.8: 1122.16
• = 1: 1.76: 2.81
Experimental plan:
• In this experiment we are wrapping cfrp&gfrp to cubs.like as attaching
strips, horizontal, vertical and fully wrappe.
• Every one cube I am changeing the pattern .because find the
capability strength of cubes.
Efficiency of cfrp flexural strerngth of cfrp&gfrp
• Future work and time frame of the project :
The remaining work cfrp&gfrp wrapping cubes with different
pattern and experimental laboratory test results works are
pending .it will be complete by January to march last week in
Dissertation-III.
