Problem
The current Northeastern events website FAILS in:

➔ help users find their interested events by filters (e.g. tags/categories)

➔ keyword searching is a catastrophe!
➔ Searching by time is not flexible(solid one day/week/month)
➔ help users find some “unofficial/casual” events not held by
organizations
Solution
HuskyDictionary is SPECIAL because it helps users to:

Evaluation
What evaluators said “Good” and we keep:

1. Nice Home Screen Layout/Simple Design

2. Good error messages

3. Option to change favorite types: flexibility/freedom

4. “Continue as a guest”: shortcut

Evaluation & Design
Modification
Major problems found from I6 evaluators and T6 grader:

1. Visibility - overlapping text (major -> catastrophe!)

2. Prevent Errors - events that are posted can not be edited anymore
Evaluation & Design
Modification
Minor/Cosmetic problems found from I6 evaluators and T6 grader:

1. Speak User Language & Help - Tooltips & Button & Text

2. Flexibility - should provide SKIP options for every step for users
3. Feedback - users could view posts they had posted successfully
4. Consistency - buttons with same functionality should look same
Extra Time - User Test
● System Usability Scale(SUS): general usability test

● Think-aloud: get “real users” ideas

● Biometrics: Eye and Cursor tracking

What We’ve Learned
1. Technical limitation: Qt for python
2. Color:

Cannot totally rely on the change of color. Keep color consistent.

3. Freedom/Cleared Marked Exit

4. Feedback: clearly convey the system state to users
5. Prevent mistakes:
Importance of warning if user’s operation cannot be revoked.
