AUTOCAD

AUTO CAD
AutoCAD is a commercial software application for 2D and 3D
computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting available since 1982 as a
desktop application and since 2010 as a mobile web- and cloud-based
app marketed as AutoCAD 360. Developed and marketed by
Autodesk, Inc., AutoCAD was first released in December 1982, running
on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers.
Prior to the introduction of AutoCAD, most commercial CAD
programs ran on mainframe computers or minicomputers, with each
CAD operator (user) working at a separate graphics terminal.
AutoCAD is used across a wide range of industries, by architects,
project managers, engineers, designers, and other professionals.
As Autodesk's flagship product, by March 1986 AutoCAD had
become the most useable CAD program worldwide. As of 2015,
AutoCAD is in its 30th generation, and collectively with all its variants,
continues to be the most widely used CAD program throughout most
of the world.

 Drafting and Annotation is used for 2D ( 2 Dimensional)sketch.
2D means two dimensional , i.e. something that has width and height.

3D Modelling is used for 3D ( 3 Dimensional) sketch.

3D means three dimensional, i.e. something that has width, height and depth. Our
physical environment is three dimensional and we move around in 3D every day

Co-ordinate systems

Absolute co-od sys :

In this co-od system values of two axis X,Y are consider for drawing.
These two dimensions to be calculated from UCS ( User Co-ordinate system)
X Y
0 ,0
10 , 0
10 , 10

Relative co-od sys :

In relative co-od system one dimension will move and another will be fixed
X Y
0 , 0
@10 , 0
@0 , 10

Polar co-od sys :

In polar co-od sys one dimension and one direction is to be consider.
X Y
0, 0
@10 <0
@10<90
