Everybody likes makeup.
Well, almost everybody. But chances are you belong to the former.
But affiliate links, right?
It's a nice incentive to selling something worthwhile and easy to like.
So, do you now know your
target market?
What target market?
Let me tell you about target market.
• It's like a niche for virtual assistants but catered more to the end user.
• This is the audience that the cosmetic company thought about prior
to launching (or even creating) their products.
Catering to the dark-
skinned?
Fenty Beauty
Catering to the dark-skinned?
• The biggest misconception about Fenty Beauty is that it catered to
dark-skinned women. This was not what the founder, Robyn Rihanna
Fenty, had in mind.
• Who is Fenty?
Yes, THE Rihanna herself.
So the expectation is that she already has an established market, right?
To quote the About Fenty Beauty
page ...
• “She launched a makeup line “so that women everywhere would be
included,” focusing on a wide range of traditionally hard-to-match
skin tones, creating formulas that work for all skin types, and
pinpointing universal shades.”
Behold ... the highlighters.
And no we don't mean sharpies.
The Highlighters
Highlighters have become
associated lately with
Fenty Beauty.
Not a blush on, not an eye shadow. But works best with, duh, highlighting your skin.
2 markets got
captured in one
product line.
First is of course, Rihanna's fans.
The website made it a
point to tag Rihanna's
favorites.
Because regardless of the product's quality or price, if they want to achieve that
Rihanna look, they would go and buy this.
This positioning made the
products easy to sell at
some point.
Especially if you're still a fan of Rihanna even if she has not released any singles at
the moment yet. (Show clips from Instagram)
Catering to the drag
queens?
Again, not really.
When you have one of the
biggest influencers on YouTube
launching her own cosmetic line
...
... you know her fanbase is not exclusive to drag queens.
Hence, we talk about Jeffree Star
No copyright infringement
intended, maám. I just
need an example.
Please don't go after me, Jeffree. I just need an example.
So who is Jeffree Star?
• Female pronouns will be used here.
• Jeffree Star is one of the YouTube-based influencers today with an
influencing power of attracting more than a million views in less than
24 hours.
• Previous makeup collections seen to be successful under the Jefree
Star Cosmetics brand are the Blood Sugar pallette and the Thirsty
pallette.
