“The most used

mobile applications
in today’s era”
Move 1: Establishing a Territory

Step 1: Making a Centrality Claim

Step 2: Making Topic Generalizations
Step 3: Reviewing Items of Previous
Research

2
Step 1
Technological advances have paved a way for a new
epoch, a society of technology-driven people governed by
the idea of constant becoming paralleled to technology in
constant development. Reminiscence of the past
technologies is quite nostalgic, mobile devices as the main
topic for this paper has acquired a major takeover in
development, it has been long developing and still in the
process of evolving as period rolling. Hence, an evaluative
research is conducted to perceive the totality of its
development that is aiming to the work it has done to the
emotional and psychological field in the society, precisely, 3
in the field of education.
Step 2
The main topic is centering to the most used
mobile devices application, to figure out how it was
used by the users: for education or do they prefer to
use it in social networking. Thus, surveys have been
conducted for the most used applications. The
applications in the questioners are revolving on these
examples: Face book, YouTube, Whats app, Skype,
Twitter, Viper, Instagram, Tango, Chrome, Safari,
Foursquare, Maps, Team viewer, Face time, Drop box,
Painters and Ever note. The order on these examples
is the same order on data gathered beginning with 4
the most used down to the infrequent visited
Step 3
In early 2017, mobile apps accounted for
nearly half of global internet traffic and will continue to
rapidly grow. The Manifest conducted a survey of 511
smart phone owners who use at least three apps daily.
Their first report on the survey suggest that nearly 40% of
smart phone owners listed social media apps as their most
frequently used type of app.
In fact, the most widely used app in 2017 across all
platforms was Facebook.

Move 2: Establishing a Niche

Step 1-B: Indicating Gap

6
Step 1-B: Indicating Gap

In today’s era, mobile applications are a companion for

human and social life. It can be used to communicate,
navigate route, play games, banking, etc. A considerable
amount of research has been conducted abroad and has
tended to focus on the importance of mobile applications
rather than recognizing the importance of developing and
deploying applications that are specifically designed for
teachers and students who are Filipinos. Young (2011) listed
some features of a mobile app that teachers would want to
have, these are: taking attendance, collecting data, reading
scholarly articles, recording notes, and using textbook tools.

Move 3: Occupying the Niche
Step 1A: Outlining Purposes

The aim of this study is to identify what are the

most useful and used mobile applications by
the students and teachers here in La Salle
University . In this paper, we attempt to
develop a survey questionnaire adopted from
the first Technology Acceptance Model by
Davis (1989).

Move 3: Occupying the Niche
Step 3: Indicating a Structure of the Paper

This paper is structured as follows: Chapter 1

contains introduction, review of related literature,
the research problem and definition and terms.
Chapter 2 contains methods, chapter 3 is the
presentation, analysis, and interpretation of data
and Chapter 4 contains the summary of findings,
