PLC stands for Programmable Logic Controller. It is basically a computing
system used to control electromechanical processes. SCADA, on the
other hand, stands for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition,
which is a form of industrial control system used to monitor and
control infrastructure and facilities in industries.
Thus, PLCs control a wide array of applications from simple such as lighting
functions to complex like environmental systems in chemical processing
plants.
