 This is the story of an unforgettable experience for one brave boy ans
his family. Where a when does this story take place? in the small town in
roma in queensland, australia. In 2010, heavy rain in the area brought
the worst floods in over one hundred years. The floods caused millons of
dolars worth of damage and thousands of people had to evacuate their
homes.

el área provocaron las peores inundaciones en más de cien años. Las
inundaciones causaron daños por valor de millones de dólares y miles
de personas tuvieron que evacuar sus hogares.
 Who was this boy? Twelve year old jack ousbourne. He lived in roma with
his mom and dad and two younger sisters. They moved there is march
2010. In september of the same year, jack s dad was driving the family
home after visiting some friends. Everybody was happy and they were
laughing and singing some of their favorite songs.
 Quién era este chico? Doce años Jack Ousbourne. Vivía en Roma con su
mamá y papá y dos hermanas menores. Se mudaron allí en marzo de
2010. En septiembre del mismo año, el padre de Jack conducía a la
familia a su casa después de visitar a unos amigos. Todos estaban
felices y se reían y cantaban algunas de sus canciones favoritas.
 As they driving down the long winding road it started to rain. The sky
was dark and they soon realized that they were heading into a
thunderstorm. Raindrops as big as stones crashed against the hood of
the car. Jack s younger sisters were not laughing anymore. They began
to feel nervious but their mom told them not to worry.

 The storm continued. When jack looked out of the window he could see
that tiny streams now looked like huge rivers. The fields looked like huge
lakes and cows were standing under trees for shelter. Jack s dad slowes
the car down to twenty miles per hour and jack wished he was at home.

 The car went around a bend and suddenly there was a loud crash. Part
of the road collapsed and the car started to sink. It was sinking into a
depp pool of water. Jack s sisters were frightened. They started crying as
their father desperately tried to open a window.

choque. Parte del camino se derrumbó y el auto comenzó a hundirse. Se
estaba hundiendo en una piscina de agua. Las hermanas de Jack

 Jack s mom quickly passed erin thorough the open window and his dad
took his sister to safety. At the same time jack helped his other sister
libby to the front. He knew he did not have a moment to lose. The water
was now as high as jack s neck. The rain was pouring down around the
car and his mom was screaming at him to hurry.

 Finally jack pulled himself to the front of the car. He had to swim
between the front seats and out of the window. His mother followed him
just as the vehicule completely sank. They swam to the side of the road
and collapsed. A flash of lightning illuminated the river. The car
dissappared under the water.

 The family s friends came to pick them up and took them to the hospital
to see if they were injured, the next day jack s parents returned with the
police to find their car. It was three meters under water. They looked at
each other. You saved your sisters lives jack they said.
