INTRODUCTION

Since 1930s, certain developments took place, which greatly contributed, to the evolution and growth of
Human Resources Management (HRM). These developments are given below:
Scientific Management
Labour Movements
Government Regulations.

The Scope of HRM is in deed fast. All major activities in the working life of worker from time of his entry in
an organization until he / she leaves, come under the preview of HRM. Specifically, the activities included are
Human Resource planning, Job analysis and design, Recruitment, Selection, Orientation and placement,
Training and development, Performance appraisal and Job evaluation, employee and executive remuneration
and communication, employee welfare, safety and health, industrial relations and the like.

HRM is becoming a specialized branch giving rise to a number of specialized areas like:
Introduction of recruitment and selection process:
Recruitment and selection is the process of identifying the need for a job, defining th requirements of the
position and the job holder, advertising the position and choosing the most appropriate person for the job.
Retention means ensuring that once the best person has been recruited, they stay with the business and are
not “poached” by rival companies. Undertaking this process is one of the main objectives of management.
Indeed, the success of any business depends to a large extent on the quality of its Staff.
Need of the Study

The purpose of study is to learn the practical applicability of


the theoretical knowledge gained about recruitment
&selection process. To gain knowledge about, the process of
recruitment &selection as well as to know the effectiveness or
ineffectiveness of the process of recruitment &selection in
Mindmap Consulting to provide suggestions if any for having
an effective recruitment &selection process of Mindmap
Consulting .
To Increase the effectiveness of different recruiting techniques
and sources for all types of job applicants in the organization.
To identify the various sources of recruitment.

Scope of the study

The study was conducted to have an insight into the


recruitment and selection process.
The scope of the study was to identify various
techniques used in the recruitment and selection.
To understand the various sources of recruitment
provided in the organization.
Research Methodology

1. Primary sources:


This consists of original information gathered from
specific purpose. The normal procedure is to interview
people individually and / or groups, to get the required
data. Here the data being sought is various methods and
techniques of recruitment followed in this organization.
2. Secondary Sources:
The profile of the company and text books on HRM and
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT and various magazines.
LIMITATIONS OF THE STUDY

The domestic market is the focus of this study.


We have not studied the international recruitment
process here.
Sample size is limited due to the limited period
allocated for the survey
