Uses and its Advantages

 Pesticides are chemicals which kills or manages the population of Pests.

 Its is estimated that 37% of all crop produced in USA each year is destroyed
by Pests which causes loss of nearly $122 Billions dollars.

 So Pesticides are used to conserve the crops that are meant for Humans
consumption.
Disadvantages

 So pesticides are poison which if consumed by humans will have many

harmful effects.

 Some of the scientifically proven diseases caused by pesticides are Cancer

,Asthma, ADHD, Depression, Anxiety and many more.

 Endosulfine In Mother’s Milk:

A research done by IIT
Kanpur states that
Endosulfine in mother’s milk
is 860% more than normal
intake recommended by
WHO.
 Kasaragod Rain of Endosulfine: From 1976-
2000 Endosulfine spray was being done
by government body on Kaju crops which
affected more than 5000 people.

Disadvantages

 Some pesticides are anti folic acid, and folic acid is necessary vitamin for
brain development which if not in proper amount leads to undeveloped
brain in newborns.
 India has highest number of such cases.

 Punjab has 1.4% of total area of India, but its pesticide use is 18% of all
pesticide use.
 Which is why diseases like cancer, infertility and more have increased at
large level.

total sprayed is used for killing the pest.

pollutes environment with toxic

  People claims that if green revolution had not been
there then we would not able to feed our country.
 Its is a myth as we are able to rise the production of
Green wheat, rice etc. type major crops but the pulses and
oil farming is badly affected by this.

 As a result of this India has become, more depended
on imports of pulses and oil raw materials and
products.
