How Earth got its name.

Earth is the only planet in

our solar system that was
not named after a greek or
roman god. Instead the
name Earth comes from
the old english word eorthe
and the german word erthe
that both mean ground.

Earth second name is Terra. The latin word for land/ground.

Time on Earth

● A day on Earth is 24
hours
● A year is 365 days
● Every four years there
is another day added to
make up for lost time.
● There are 12 months in
a year.
● Earth is 4.543 billion
years old.
Earth's Symbols
Earth's symbol is a circle
with a line in the middle
representing the equator,
and a line in center going
vertically up and down
representing the Prime
Meridian. The blue in the
background represent our
seven oceans.
Another symbol for earth is a stylized
Globus Crugair.However it has been
rejected since the Globus Cruger is a
christian symbol from the middle
ages.
Explored By
The list of people who explored earth is
to long since technically you are exploring
it right now. However I am going to limit
the list to people who have theorized about
earth being a sphere and some very famous
explorers.
Around the sixth century ancient greeks
theorized that the earth was sphere but
was not proven until the third century
when they found out the earth
circumference. It was later proven again by
and Magellan-Elcano expedition in 1519.
Earth's Features Earth has a diameter of 7,917
miles. It is located 92.96 million
miles away.
Earth is technically weightless
because the Earth's gravitational
does not pull on earth. However
if it did it would be
5,972,000,000,000,000,000,000
TONS. Earth only has one
satellite whose name is just
Moon. We call it moon because it
why would we need a title if it is
the only one we have.
What Earth is like
Earth surface is filled with mountain
ranges, plains, forests, desserts, and
rainforests. Oceans make up 71
percent of the surface. 78% percent
of our atmosphere is nitrogen, 21%
oxygen, and miscellaneous gasses
make up 10%of the atmosphere. The
hottest temperature on Earth was
136 fahrenheit. The coldest ever
recorded was a chilling -125 degrees
fahrenheit.
Fun Facts about Earth

● Earth is going around the sun at 67,000 miles

per hour.
● You would weigh less at the equator than you
would at the poles
● The poles flip flop a lot.
