Descriptive Adjective describes the

noun.
• It may describe what something or
someone tooks like or feels.
• It may describe shape, size, sound,
taste and many other things.
• Remember that a descriptive adjective
answers the question, “What kind?”
A descriptive adjective may be found right
before the noun, like exampless below.

• I live in a big house. (Question: What kind of


house? Answer: Big)
• I saw a tall tree. (Question: What kind of
tree? Answer: tall)
It may also be found after noun.
• My house is big.
• The tree is tall
1. A white butterfly flew into the
flowers. (What is the color of the
butterfly?)
2. The leaves are dry. ( What kind of
leaves?)
3. The mango tree has many leaves.
(How many leaves?)

The words white, dry, and many are


descriptive adjectives.
