• Create a Power Point or Prezi detailing the
battle.
• Make a presentation to the class on the
battle.
Individually;
• Each member of the group will write a
paper on the battle.
Research
Group should be sure to research;
• Who fought in the battle (nations)?
• Who were the commanders/leaders for each side?
• What was the strength of each side’s forces?
• What were the casualties (people) and losses
(equipment, etc)?
• Where and when was the battle fought?
• Why was it called the “Battle of….”?
• What happened during the battle?

• Why was the winning side victorious over the
other?
• The long term effects of the battle on World War II?
Power Point or Prezi – Part 1

1. Title slide – the name of the battle and 1
picture.

(include flags) and which side they were
on.
3. Commanders slide – the names and
pictures (where possible) of the
commanding officers.
Power Point or Prezi – Part 2
4. Strength slide – the number of soldiers
and equipment (tanks, artillery, ships,
planes, etc). Include at least one related
picture. This can be either one or two
slides depending on how much
information you find during research or
the photos that you wish to include.
Power Point or Prezi – Part 3
5. Where and when slide – Where the battle was
fought and the starting and ending dates.
Should also include a map and/or other
pictures of the location of the battle. This can
be two slides, depending on the size of
maps/photos.

casualties and losses for each side in terms of
soldiers and equipment. Include at least 1

7. Who won and why slide – this slide should
inform us which side was victorious.
Additionally it must provide analysis of why
that side won the battle. Include at least 1

us what the effect the battle had on WWII
overall. The major battles were all important
events that affected the long term course of the
war. Include at least one photo.
Power Point or Prezi – Part 5

group members, with their full names. It
should act like an ending credits where
each group member highlights their
contribution to the Power Point or Prezi.
Class Presentation – Part 1
• With the Power Point or Prezi completed,
each group will have to present it to the
entire class. This presentation must
include all group members.
• As a suggestion, it would be best that
group members present the sections that
they were responsible for.
• Each group presentation should take
between five and ten minutes.
Individual Paper – Part 1
• Each group member will have to complete
a paper on the assigned battle.
• The paper should be no less than two
pages, no more than three pages,
double spaced, size eleven font.
• Students must complete this on their
own, while similarities between papers
among group members is to be expected,
plagiarism will not be tolerated.
