What is BIOLOGY?
Biology is not just about some abstract word coded in long texts
and difficult language ..but if you see properly then

* It is the garden you walk through everyday.

*It is the function of your own body
*It is the food which runs your body and keeps it alive.
*It is the environment in which you breath.
*It is the flowers which bring smile on your face
in short it is “YOUR WORLD”

PRINCIPLE OBJECTIVE OF STUDYING BIOLOGY

(at high school level)
*explore the variations amongst the living.
*developing respect for the diversities.
*appreciate that the most complex processes are
also built on essentially simple processes .
‘BIOLOGY’ is the branch
of science which deals
with the study of the
entire world of living
organisms.

conducted by the state/central
government or the Institution .

The MBBS course starts with the basic

non clinical subjects such as
biochemistry, physiology, anatomy,
microbiology, pathology and
pharmacology.

Dentists or dental surgeons provide surgical,
medical and other forms of treatment for oral and
dental disorders and diseases by examining teeth
and mouth of the patients.

They treat a diverse group of patients in a variety

of settings using a variety of techniques and
procedures such as computers and magnetic
resonance imaging.

Dentists perform trauma surgery, implants, tissue

grafts and laser surgery to correct them.

the oldest treatment method which evolved around 600 BC
in India.
Ayurvedic medicines are rapidly gaining acceptance all over
the world as they have no side effects and is found to have
cures for even rare ailments.
As modern medicine with its strong synthetic chemical drugs
fails to combat nature, there is rapid and progressive
acceptance of this system. Patients from all over the world
are coming to India for Ayurveda treatment & it has
become very popular among the foreigners
With the popularity of the system the demand for Ayurvedic
doctors are on the rise.

ADVANTAGES of opting BIOLOGY
 Student can opt for PCB related as well as PCM related
career courses (engineering etc.) after 10+2 whereas all
these career options are close for a student who does not opt
for Biology at 10+2 level.
 A student of Science can easily switch over to other streams
i.e. commerce or humanities after 10+2 if he wishes, which
is not possible for the students of other streams.
 Opting for science gives the student a scientific
temperament; they also learn how to manage time, & work
hard ;
Concepts of Biology are such which are interesting, some of
them are so useful that the students always remember
throughout their lives.
