Prerequisites:-Before Cabex activity need to check below mention things consists

•Safe copy of the current software package

•Check for any critical alarm in BSC.
• Verification of default package.
• Pre-checking of the BSC

Diagnosis of all unit with both MCMU.

All units switch over should be done & at the time of switchover traffic should be monitored , so that
no outage is there.
No ongoing case should be there on BSC.

•Verify all LK’s( should have correct C-Num and capacity and feature description as ordered
•Extension rack is grounded to the basic rack .
• Top covers, doors and side plates are installed.
• Power supply wires are connected.
•Backplane pins should be checked with a torch front and back side in expansion cabinet .
•Check the material as per ordered

 Connect Cables as per “Cabling instruction for Intercabinet cabling” .

1. PCM and EMB cables for GSW2KB-0 and EMB 0 cables

 Change the MCMU-0 and EMB-0 to SE-NH state from the basic rack (BSCC) before
installing the cable:
Change the MCMU-0 and EMB-0 to SP-EX state:
ZUSC:MCMU,0:SP;
ZUSC:EMB,0:SP;
ZUSC:EMB,0:TE;
ZUSC:EMB,0:SE;
ZUSC:EMB,0:SE;
ZUSC:MCMU,0:TE;

Connect the cables to GSW2KB-0 from BSCD cabinet.

Connect EMB bus cables from BSCD cabinet.

 After connecting the cables to GSW2KB-0 &EMB bus cables from BSCD cabinet:

Change the MCMU-0 &EMB-0 TE-EX state:

ZUSC:MCMU,0:SE;
ZUSC:MCMU,0:TE;
ZUSC:EMB,0:SE;
ZUSC:EMB,0:TE;
Run diagnostic for EMB-0
Change the EMB-0 to SP-EX state:
ZUSC:EMB,0:SP;
Run diagnostic for MCMU-0:
ZUDU:MCMU,0;
Change the MCMU-0 and EMB-0 to WO-EX state.

 2. PCM and EMB cables for GSW2KB-1 and EMB 1 cables
Repeat the whole process same as MCMU-1 & EMB-1
 Change the MCMU-1 and EMB-1 to SE-NH state from the basic rack (BSCC) before installing the
cable.
Connect the cables to GSW2KB-1 from BSCD cabinet.
Connect EMB bus cables from BSCD cabinet
After connecting the cables to GSW2KB-1 &EMB-1 bus cables from BSCD cabinet perform diagnostic
for MCMU-1 &EMB-1
Change the MCMU- 1 and EMB-1 to SP-EX state.

3. Connect the LANU cables from BSCD cabinet:

 Equipping the hardware extension rack (BSCD) for BSC3i to the database with GSWB2K

1.Install PSC6-A plug-in units to BCSU’s in BSCD rack

Install PSC6-A plug-in units to BCSU’s in BSCD rack and check that the switch is turned OFF state

2. Put power on to BSCD rack

Put the power on to BSCD cabinet first to PDFU-0 switch one by one and second to PDFU-1 switch one by one

NOTE!
In this phase all plug-in units must be out of the cartridge

3.Install SBUS and timing bus cables and terminators for CLS-0, CLAB-0 and SBUS-0

Change the CLS-0, SBUS-0 and CLAB-0: to SP-EX

ZUSC:<unit_type>,0:SP;
Force WO-EX CLS-1 and CLAB-1 to be active by pressing its Forced control button in front panel from PIU
Change the CLS-0, SBUS-0 and CLAB-0 to SE-NH state from the BSCC before installing the cables

 Move cartridge existing identification terminators from the BSCC to BSCD cabinet

Remove the TRMC1 terminator from BSCC rack CLAC-0 cartridge place 5.4B 00R1 and connect it to BSCD rack
to CLAC-1 cartridge place 1.10B 00R1
Connect the SBUS and timing bus cables (BSCD 0_002 & BSCD 0_011)

Install CLAB-S plug-in units to BSCD CLAC cartridge track 03

Change units state and run diagnostics to CLS-0, SBUS-0 and CLAB-0
ZUSC:<unit_type>,0:SE;
ZUSC:<unit_type>,0:TE;
Run diagnostic 1st CLS-0, 2nd SBUS-0 and 3rd CLAB-0
ZUDU:<unit>,<index>;
If diagnostic results OK, change CLS-0, SBUS-0 and CLAB-0 state to SP-EX, wait for a while to check the
stability
ZUSC:<unit_type>,0:SP
 Release the CLS-1 and CLAB-1 Forced control button by pressing it.
Change the CLS-0, SBUS-0 and CLAB-0 to WO-EX state

 4.Install SBUS and timing bus cables and terminators for CLS-1, CLAB-1 and SBUS-1

Change the CLS-1, SBUS-1 and CLAB-1 to SP-EX state:

Force WO-EX CLS-0 and CLAB-0 to be active by pressing its Forced control button in front panel from PIU
Change the CLS-1, SBUS-1 and CLAB-1 to SE-NH state from the BSCC before installing the cable

Diagnose the new inserted CLAB with both CLS &MCMU

 •Take CLAB units in CLAC-1 to up and running

Change the CLAB-2 to WO-EX state:

Change the CLAB-3 to SP-EX state:

ZUSC:CLAB,3:SE;
ZUSC:CLAB,3:TE;

Change CLAB-2 to TE-EX:

ZUSC:CLAB,2:TE;
Run diagnostic to CLAB-2:
ZUDU:CLAB,2;

If diagnostic OK, change the units state to WO-EX

 Change the CLAB-3 to TE-EX state:

Run diagnostic to CLAB-3:

If diagnostic OK, change the units state to WO-EX
ZUSC:CLAB,3:SP;

Then perform diagnosis with another CLS &MCMU

Make sure diagnostic of CLAB with both CLS & MCMU should be performed .
Because sometime observed CLAB working fine with only one CLS. So avoid any EME
Diagnose CLAB with both CLS &MCMU .

 Create all the below mention plug-in unit as per hardware creation doc.

Install BCSU’s .
Install LANU 2 & 3
Install ETC plugin units.
Do diagnosis of all the installed BCSU with both MCMU .

 Update BINOS s/w and configure LANU2 & LANU3 for GBoIP.
 Create Ethernet interfaces in all PCU cards installed
 Assign PCU IPs & gateway IP for all interfaces as per IP datasheet provided
 Check SGSN reachability (PING test)
 Create PSEIs & NSVLIs and check NSVLI status in all PCU
 Test DATA CALL & Voice call
 Test DATA & Voice call after BCSU switchover
 Safe copy of new package.
