LOKPAL:

 JanLokpal Bill,also known as Citizen ‘s

Ombudsman Bill. It is a draft anti
corruption bill drawn up by Prominent civil
/society activists in India seeking the
appointment of a Jan lokpal, an
independent body to investigate corruption
cases. Lokpal is framed for Union .
LOKAYUKTA

 Lokayukta for state government to inquire

into allegation of corruption against certain
public functionaries and for matters
connected there with or incidental there to.

 1966-Suggested by Administrative reforms

parliament .
 2013-Bill was passed in the parliament .

DREAM GETS SOUL
 The last day of the current session of the Assembly
,the TamilNadu government is required to inform
the Supreme court of its progress on the matter ,the
House passed a Bill to set up a Lokyukta with
virtually no discussion ,even as the opposition of
DMK staged a walk out .
 As per the Bill , the Act may be called the
TamilNadu Lokayukta Act,2018 .
 The inquiry wing of the Lokayukta shall have all
powers of a civil code under the code of civil
procedure ,1908 .
 The inquiry wing can summon and enforce the
attendance of any person and examining ,require
the discovery and production of any document
,receive evidence on affidavits ,request any public
record or copy from any court or office ,issuing
commissions for the examination of witness or
documents.
