A pronoun is a word that replaces a noun in a
sentence. Pronouns are used to avoid
repeating the same nouns over and over
again. For example, "Jeremy ran so fast, you'd
think his life was on the line." The pronoun
"his" saved us from repeating the name
Jeremy again.
Common pronouns
include I, me, mine, she, he, it, we, and us. In
truth, there are many different types of
pronouns, each serving a different purpose.
1. Speak as the subject Speak as subject who
changes actions as subjects who carry out
actions or actions in a sentence.
Example of sentences:
• I wrote a letter to my cousin in Jakarta.
• We play basketball on the school grounds.
2. Speak as objects Speak as object instead of
word as an object that is subject to action or action
by the subject in a sentence.
Example of sentences:
• My good friend visited me yesterday morning.
• Mother asks him to buy vegetables at the market.
3. Pronounced as the preposition object
Say it as a preposition object, i.e. the pronoun
is located after the preposition word (in, at,
next to, in, and so on).
Example of sentences:
• The man stands in front of him.
• Students go to the swimming pool and swim
in it.
4. Pronoun as a complement (complement)
Pronoun as a complement to pronouns is used
to complement or help explain nouns (nouns).
Example of sentences:
• A white cat with blue eyes is my pet.
• The woman in yellow is her mother.
Personal pronouns are used as a
substitute for a person's name. There
are two kinds: subjective and
objective pronouns. That is, they
either act as the subject of the
sentence or the object of the sentence.
As the subject of a sentence, they are:
