 “Greek philosopher Aristotle, who lived
between 384–322 BC, once said:
Knowing yourself is the beginning of all
wisdom.”
 Benjamin Franklin put it best:
“There are three things extremely hard: steel,
a diamond, and to know one’s self.”
 Self-awareness is currently one of the sexiest
words in entrepreneurship, happiness,
productivity, or anything that has to do with
personal growth.
 Self-worth is a feeling that you are a good
person who deserves to be treated with
respect
 Self-value is “more behavioural than
emotional, more about how you act toward
what you value, including yourself, than how
you feel about yourself compared to others”.
 Self-worth is at the core of our very selves—
our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are
intimately tied into how we view our
worthiness and value as human beings.
 Self-Awareness is a state in which the
concept of the self reacts to social and
environmental cues.
 Self-Reflection is one’s ability to willingly
learn more about their fundamental purpose
and to willingly exercise Introspection.
 Introspection is the examination of one’s own
conscious thoughts and feelings.
 Self-Awareness is the achievement of
practicing Self-Reflection and the exercise of
Introspection.
 Self-Awareness is generally defined as the extent to
which someone is consciously aware of their internal
state as well as their relationships or interactions with
others.
 Situational Self-Awareness is an automatic process
that helps you know where you are and what you can
do. It enables you to compare your current actions to
your internal standards helping you foresee if you
need to make any adjustments.
 Dispositional Self-Awareness, on the other hand, is
the tendency for one to focus on and reflect on their
own psychological processes as well as their
subjective experiences and relationships with others.
 The Johari window is a technique that helps
people better understand their relationship
with themselves and others. It was created by
psychologists Joseph Luft and Harrington
Ingham.
 A helpful device for developing more
openness with ourselves and others.
 The model has become widely used to help
people understand the relationships that they
have and for improving communication.
 Is a factual description of how you perceive
yourself
 An accurate statement of what you believe
about yourself
 The self-concept is derived from self-esteem
and self-efficacy
 People with a good self-esteem and self-
efficacy are often able to recognize their
limitations without a judgment attached
Self Esteem
 Self-esteem is the regard or respect that a
person has for oneself.
 A person with positive feelings regarding the
self is said to have high self-esteem.
 An artificially inflated self-esteem is an effort
to appear to have high self-esteem.
 Self-efficacy is a person's belief in their
ability to accomplish some specific goal or
task.
 It generally corresponds to the level of
competence an individual feels.
 Competence can vary from one situation to
another.
 Your sense of identity has to do with who you
think you are and how you perceive yourself.
It’s about how you define yourself.
 Self-esteem is how you value yourself. It has
to do with your sense of self-worth and is
often based on comparisons with others.
 Self-compassion is a way of relating to
yourself with kindness, even when things are
going badly and you’re not performing so
well. It gives you resilience and flexibility.
 Identity, Self-Esteem and Self-Compassion
 Developing self-compassion is helpful to good
mental health and contributes to a stable sense of
identity.

you are and how you perceive yourself. It’s about how
you define yourself.

 Logos is something more refined than the
capacity to make private feelings public.
 It enables the human being to perform as no
other animal can.
 It makes it possible for him to perceive and
make clear to others through reasoned
discourse
 It helps to differentiate between what is
advantageous and what is harmful, between
what is just and what is unjust, and between
what is good and what is evil.
To me, Self-Awareness is
 The ability to translate your feelings into
words ; and
 To give it meaning
“And then what?”
 Do more things that make you happy.
 Do more things that you’re good at.
 Avoid things that make you unhappy.
 Avoid things that you’re bad at.
 Thank You……
