• Mastectomy is the surgeon removes all of
the breast tissue, in same cases of ductal
carcinoma insitu, some of the lymph nodes
in the under a rm area (axilary nodes) is
removal

• Lumpectomy is surgeon removal breast

surrounding tissue
 PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AFTER SURGERY

@Try to start exercising as soon as possible after surgery

@ Do not move the arm quickly, stomping, try slowly when changing
position, open the door and others

@ Basic training techniques after breast surgery

- Exercise "ankle pumping" (ankle)

- Range of motion exercises, especially in the shoulder surgery at one side all
directions of joint movement
- Exercises strain the joints, muscles and the arm
- Breathing exercises and relaxation
- Keep these exercises every day for 6 months
2. Fatique
* Try to move in the area around bed for
minute. 2-3 times/ day
* Involve the other persons to do mobilitation
* Taking several short walk on flat surface
* U can use stairs in moderation
SKIN CARE WHEN RADIATION IS INDICATED

• Use soft soap

• Dry skin gently, do not in rub
• The provision of lotion or powdwer

• Use the clothes loose and absorb sweat
• Avoid direct sunlight
 WOUND CARE

• Gauze bandage will cover the surgical wound

and the drain
• If bandage is dry leave it in place
• If bandage is moist replace it with a fresh gauze
bandage
• After 48 - 72 hours u should remove bandage
• use extra thin (adhesive strip) to cover the
wound, leave this in place until peel off on they
on in about 2 weeks
• keep the incicision and the area where the area
drain enter the skin dry
 DRAIN CARE

• Teach the patient for how to empty the

drain and record how much fluid came out
of the wound
• Patency the drain to cloth with safety pin
• Hold the tube of the drain to skin with strip
 HOW TO EMPTY THE DRAIN
• Empty your drain one a day or empty it more often if the
drain is full
• Follow the step
• - washing your hand
- strip the tube
- lift the cap on the drain opening
- fil in the fluid to the measuring cap
- clean the drain opening squeze the bulb
with your hand until colapse
- close the cap while the bulb is colapse
• Record amount of the fluid each time when you empty
the drain
• Report to the docter when u follow up.
 MEDICATION

• If you pain not severe u may prevent with

paracetamol
• If you received antibiotic to prevent
infection take all these pils as directed
• If you feel nausea or vomited u may
prevent with ranitidin and ondacentron
PREVENT EDEMA AFTER LIMPO NODULE
RESECTION
• Early ambulation
• Propore to skin
• Avoid to using tight cloth
• Dont bring heavy thing
• Dont use jewerly at the arm where suffer
• Avoid injury
• Avoid extreme temperature
• Avoid insect bite
WHEN CONTACT THE HOSPITAL/ DOCTOR
• Make a follow-up appointment as directed by your healt care team

• Call your doctor right away if you have any of the following
General
* Severe Vomiting
* Febris > 38C
Incision
* incision seem not to be healing
* rednes, swelling, or warmth around the incision or tube
* stiches become loose
Drain Tube
* tube falls out
* fluid leaking around the tube
* new or increased pain around tube
Drainage
* foul smelling discharge
* drainagechange from light pink to dark red
* sudden increase or decrease in the amount of drainage over 30 cc
