• What is one thing that can lose your temper?


Objectives:
• Describe the word patience in a biblical perspective.
• Discuss the 3 lessons to learn regarding patience.
• Some fruits have a protective outer layer.
• The outer peel will also protect the fruit and allow it to grow.
• If the peel will be removed, then the fruit will rot and spoil.
• Similarly, the practice of patience restores and protects relationships.
• Godly patience enables us to show mercy instead of hate and to
forgive instead of seek revenge.

• The ability to wait, or to continue doing something despite
difficulties, or to suffer without complaining or becoming annoyed:

• Paul made used of the compound Greek word “Makrothumia .”
• “makro” meaning long.
• “thumos” pertains to anger.
• Thus, literally it means LONG TO ANGER.

• Instead of building fences, patience builds bridges to maintain
relationships.

James 5:7-11 (NLT)
• 7 Dear brothers and sisters,[a] be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return.
Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the
spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. 8 You, too, must be
patient. Take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.

For look—the Judge is standing at the door!

•Test 1- Job's livestock was destroyed.
•Test 2- His children were all killed.
•Test 3- His body was stricken with boils.
•Test 4- His wife left him and told him to “curse God and die.”

•Patience is developed in us through the work of the Holy Spirit.
•We must be connected to Jesus.
