Sharia Cooperatives
Sharia cooperatives are forms of cooperatives that have principles, goals,
and business activities based on Islamic sharia, namely the Qur'an and
Assunah.
In general, this cooperative is a cooperative business entity that runs its
business activities based on sharia principles. All business units, products,
and operations of this cooperative are carried out in accordance with the
fatwa of the National Sharia Council (DSN) of the Indonesian Ulema
Council.
That way, in the operation of this cooperative will not be found elements
of usury, society, and ghara. In addition, this business entity is also not
permitted to carry out various derivative transactions like other Islamic
financial institutions.
The purpose of Islamic cooperatives is to help
improve their members and also the welfare of
the community in general, and to develop the
Indonesian economy in accordance with Islamic
principles
According to the Indonesian Ministry of Cooperatives SME in 2009
article 1, sharia cooperatives are a form of cooperative whose
business activities are engaged in financing, savings, in accordance
with profit sharing (Sharia) patterns, and investments.
