INTRODUCTION:

• Established by the Ministry of Textiles, Govt.


of India in the year 1986 at Delhi, National
institute of Fashion Technology has emerged
as a premier institute in the country to train
professionals who can meet the requirements
of the apparel industry.

• In 2006, the Parliament passed the National


Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Bill,
2006, thereby receiving a statutory status and
empowering the institute to grant its own
degrees and other academic distinctions.

N E E D F O R T H E P R O J E C T:

• The establishment of NIFT campus in


Uttar Pradesh was a demand of local
entrepreneurs.

• Students trained in the institute could


contribute in introducing new designs
and technology in sectors like
handicrafts.

• NIFT campus in Varanasi will enhance


the scope of textile and handicrafts
sectors in the State.

• Establishing a NIFT campus will make


them go at par with the rest of the
country besides boosting the
entrepreneurship in fashion textile
sector in the State.

• Lack of infrastructure at the temporary 3

• The government has identified 25 acres(77,419.73 sq.m) of land at Chakaghat, on


the outskirts of Varanasi.

• It is 27 km away from Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport, Varanasi District,


Babatpur, Uttar Pradesh

• Varanasi railway station: 2.7 km from site

• It is to accommodate 720 students.

• Status of project: Ongoing Construction.

• Maximum plot coverage: 35%; F.A.R-1.05; Setback-front and back-7.62m other


sides-3.0m

All recruitment in NIFT will be in the ratio of 1:1 of contract:


regular posts at all levels in faculty/staff. This ratio will be
maintained at all levels of faculty/staff. The student faculty
ratio of 15:1 will be strived at.

AIM OF THE PROPOSAL:
Contemporary art is art produced in this present period of time. lt is of the post
1960- modernist period. lt includes and develops from postmodern art, which
itself is a successor to Modem art. lt seems to exist in a zone of freedom, keeping
distance from the ordinary functional character of everyday life and from its rules
and conventions.

Quieter contemplation and intellectual play exist together in that zone and
offences against systems of belief. Since the early part of the 20th century, a
common concern was what creates art. ln the contemporary period (1950 to
now), the concept of avant-garde has come to define what art is

INTRODUCTION:
About 60,000 quality rooms are across the country in different stages of
planning and development; most of these hotel should be ready by 2010.
looking at this
potential in hotel business, international giants are flocking India & forging
joint
ventures to earn there share in race.
Government of India has approved 300 hotel projects nearly half of which
are in
luxury range. Demand supply scenario suggest that hotel industry has
great
potential for investment.
We, the architects has the potential opportunities, in the field of hospitality
&
tourism architecture…………………
AIM:
•To design a five star hotel with emphasis on contemporary styles and
create space for people of various categories (business, vacation and
tourism)
• To provide best hospitality by promoting functional efficiency of space
and circulation.

Hotels today have become such a popular and
profitable business , that now they are recognize as
an industry. The large and increasing flow of tourist
coupled with rapidly changing social and cultural
life of Indian community. Today India has about
59000 approved hotel rooms against the
requirement of 120000 hotels.

SCOPE:

•Considering the vastness of the scope in design


for five star hotels, the study of spacing, function,
proper circulation and spaces for services are given
utmost importance.

•Design to suite the location and topography of the


site.

•Design a 5 star Hotel with respective to New


technology and emergency needs
